Student Travel Grants

Thanks to the generous support of ACM SIGIR, ESSIR 2026 is pleased to offer a limited number of student travel grants, covering the following expenses in part:

• Registration;
• Accommodation;
• Transport.

Submit your application before registering on the platform. Applications should be submitted by email to support@2026.essir.eu with the subject line “ESSIR 2026 Student Travel Grant” by June 7th, 2026. The required documents are (compiled as a single PDF file):

• Full name, address, and university affiliation;
• Proof of student status (copy of student ID);
• A one-page CV including major contributions or publications;
• Motivation to attend ESSIR 2026 and reasons for requesting a travel grant (approx. half a page).

Notification of selection results will be sent out by June 14th, 2026. These grants aim to foster a diverse and inclusive community at ESSIR 2026. Priority will be given to students who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints, including those from institutions or regions with limited research funding support. The funding will be reimbursed after the succesful participation and graduation of the summer school.
